Dakota Anglers has held an annual Little Britches Tournament every June since 1981.  The Little Britches Tournament for Kids is a one of kind kids fishing tournament and is held in conjunction with NDGF's free fishing weekend.  There is no entry fee and a Dakota Anglers membership is not required.  Teams consist of one adult and one child (age 0-16).  Teams are allowed to fish one body of water of their choosing.  Teams are split into four different age categories: 0-6, 7-10, 11-13, and 14-16.  Plaques will be awarded for to the winners of each age category, for largest rough fish, and a traveling trophy for the highest placing Dakota Anglers member in each category.  Each team will be allowed to weigh one persons legal limit of fish, except for Northern Pike (only 3 northerns).  Each child will get a tournament package in the morning at registration.  A casting contest for each age group will be held with prizes for winners plus many other prizes.  A picnic lunch will be served at the weigh in.  Five winners will be drawn for a trip to the Devils Lake Fish Camp, kids between 8-13 years of age are eligible.  Drawing will be held after the weigh in.
